I joined the Lake Placid Public Library Board in 2015. I am honored to be part of an institution that has been a resource and gathering place for the community for so long and in such a central way. My family and I are so happy to live, play, and read in Lake Placid.

Growing up in Lake Placid I fondly remember going to storytime with Linda (Blair).  As I started raising my family in this community, I visited the library again where Karen (Armstrong) inspired my daughters to get into reading. When the opportunity arose to become a member of the board, I quickly volunteered as now I could be a part of ensuring the continuing success of the Lake Placid Public Library.

I joined the Lake Placid Public Library Board in 2018. A former English teacher, I greatly value libraries as preservers of knowledge and providers of pleasure while fostering learning, exploring, and growth. Serving all from pre-schoolers to senior citizens, our gem of a library provides a bridge from the past into the future as it strives to serve needs and enhance lives. I am honored to be a trustee.

The Lake Placid Public Library is a warm and welcoming place in the heart of our community that has welcomed locals and visitors. This special place invites people of all ages to reflect and relax  and to explore and expand their knowledge through library resources.  I joined the board of Directors in 2024 and look forward to working with the board and library staff to promote the library’s mission.

I joined the Lake Placid Public Library in June, 2005. As an English teacher and a parent, the library is not only an amazing asset to our community, but a vital part of it. Since my childhood, the library has been a part of my life, and it has continued to do so into adulthood. It is an honor to work with the wonderful staff and fellow board members.
