JOIN OUR GROWING TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS
Here are just some of the many ways that you can support our library:
- Delivering books to house-bound residents
- Bringing in a trained dog for children’s reading time
- Occasional snow removal to support staff
- Small repair jobs on furniture, shelves, or other items
- Gardening support for our public lakeside garden
- Assisting with programming for children or teens
- Co-creating classes and events for adults (by teaching a craft, game, or other skill)
- Networking with artists to bring exciting shows to the Hughes Art Gallery
- Learning to support ongoing archival record keeping and digitization needs
For local teens seeking volunteer hours, we have need of support at community events including Community Day in June, The ADK Family Book Fest in August, the Dam Duck Race and the Teddy Bear Picnic. Contact librarian@lakeplacidlibrary.org or stop by the front desk to share your interest.
We especially appreciate the support of community members who commit to learning library procedures and coming back to help on a regular or seasonal basis.
