Learn the basics: Crochet

Monday April 7, 3:00 – 5:00

This will be a class just about the basics. If you’ve never crocheted before but would like to learn, this is the class for you!

We will cover chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, increase and decrease. There won’t be any specific project to complete, but when you leave you will have the skills you need to try your hand at scarves, granny squares, or amigurumi. Materials will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own.

Learn to make a coiled basket!

  • Learn how to make your own coiled basket using raffia and yarn. Unless you are very speedy, this will be a project you will start at the library, then finish at home.
  • It’s a great way to use up your leftover and odd balls of yarn!
  • Adults and teens welcome.
  • We will provide materials, but you can use your own yarn if you prefer.

Watercolor Workshop: Folk Art Valentine’s Day Cards

AARP Tax Assistance

The AARP volunteers have begun setting up appointments for free tax help. They will be preparing taxes until March 14th. Anyone wishing to sign up for this service please call the library, 518-523-3200, and add your name to the list.

This service is completely free, with no age or income requirements.

Crochet Workshop: The Year of the Snake

  • Learn how to make amigurumi, crocheted stuffed animals, by making a snake in honor of the 2025 Lunar New Year.
