LEGO Club

Design, create and collaborate on Lego constructions!

For families with children ages 4-12. Children must be accompanied by an adult. If you have LEGOs you’d like to share, the library will gladly accept donations during open hours.

HOMESCHOOL THURSDAY: K-9 Visitor! Date Changed

On Thursday, May 30th at 10:00, join us to learn about the important role K-9s play in environmental conservation and safety with special guests Environmental Conservation Officer Matthew LaCroix and Webb, his K-9 partner.

Programs are geared for families with children in Kindergarten – Grade 6, but other ages are welcome. Free parking is now available on Main Street until 11:00 a.m. for Lake Placid/North Elba residents with a parking sticker. Saturday, Jan. 20th 10:15 Join us as we welcome author and playwright Calvin Alexander Ramsey for a read aloud and discussion of his children’s books. The Bookstore Plus will be on hand with copies of Calvin’s books for sale. Recommended for families with children in grades 1-6, but other ages are welcome. Homeschool Thursday Family Drop-In

Join us as we prepare for the holidays with card making and hand-made gift stations.

Struggling with math? Need a tutor?

The Lake Placid Public Library would like to offer free math tutoring sessions for any student in grades 6-12.

Scientists visit the library to talk about lake data and visual arts

Homeschool Thursday Oct. 12th 10:00 am. Join us in welcoming scientists from Paul Smith’s College and the Adirondack Watershed Institute to explore the illuminating intersection between lake data collection and analysis through the visual arts.

Pop Art with Michael Albert 3:00 Children’s program

Michael Albert is a pop artist who makes collages using cereal boxes and other recycled cardboard packages. This workshop is for families with school age children, but other ages are welcome.

Stuffie Love

Treat your favorite ‘stuffie’ to an afternoon of reading and creating. Learn to hand sew or knit and leave with a beautiful blanket for your cuddly companion.  If you know you are coming, please RSVP to librarian@lakeplacidlibrary.org or 518 523-3200 so that we will be able to provide materials. Join Our Homeschool Thursday Drop-In on April 27th Between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
at The Lake Placid Public Library to Celebrate the Poetry of Spring!
In celebration of National Poetry Month and a much-anticipated new season, stations will highlight books about poetry and spring with extension activities to complete at the library or at home.
