About the Lake Placid Public Library on Mirror Lake
The Lake Placid Public Library is your local link to a world of knowledge and entertainment.
We offer over 27,000 volumes on our shelves, plus countless more available via interlibrary loan. Other resources include access to e-books; nearly 5,000 DVDs, audiobooks, and music CDs; and an archive of local history and Lake Placid photos including files of the Lake Placid Club, a collection of Olympic-related material, files of the North Elba historian, and the Gettman Collection.
The Lake Placid Public Library is a school district library chartered by the University of the State of New York. We are governed by a Board of Trustees, elected by the voters of the Lake Placid School District. Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month at 9 a.m. The public is welcome.
